Review-Shadow Shields

About the company:
Ever try to achieve that Red Carpet Smoky Eye, only to end up looking more like a raccoon than a fox? Well, look no further! Shadow Shields are the answer to flawless eye makeup application every time!

Before makeup application, apply these disposable, self-adhesive shields under your eyes to catch falling pigment, eliminating that all too familiar ‘raccoon eye’ side effect experienced during eyeshadow application. When you’re done; remove, toss and voila — you’re left with clean, smudge-free under eyes!

Major time savers, these lightweight shields are a convenient alternative to the usual powder-under-the-eye trick. With Shadow Shields, messes will be a thing of the past!

Helpful Tips

  • Remove only top corners to apply. If more adhesion is needed, remove entire top strip.
  • Application of shield doesn’t have to be directly on lash line- it can be applied under the bulge of the eye or wherever most comfortable.
  • When applying shield, allow backing to crease-it will form a small lip, helping to catch the fallout!

My Experience:

Pigment shadows have always been a nightmare for me, not that I don't love them but because of their application. If you have the right brushes you can make a good deal out of them but never without having a dust residue left on your under eyes. I came across the idea of applying face powder and then dusting it off when finished but it never was my thing. So recently i was introduced to the concept of Shadow Shields, I sure was wowed by this usable invention. So I got myself a pack to try it out to see if it really works.

These shields are semi moon shaped made out of very soft porous material on the upper side and has different shaped stick-on portions at the back that you can easily remove suiting your need to stick on your under eye. They come with a How-to guide to guide you through the steps. It's ideal for everyday make-up, smoky eye, glitter and pigments, mascara application as well as quick touch ups.

Shadow Shields has made its name very soon and has already been featured in different magazines as very handy and mess proof time savers. So if you have any application issues get your self a pack from Shadow Shields and make your make-up application easier then ever. To know how this product is become useful for others browse through their Facebook page as well.  You get your self a pack of 30 RE-USABLE shields for just $9.99 and they ship worldwide for just $3.50.

Beauty News-Coke gets a makeover!

If there’s a company that knows how to get our attention, it’s Coca Cola. Whether they’re promoting a soccer world cup, selling bottles designed by Karl Lagerfeld, or teaming up with the James Bond producers to create limited edition ‘Quantum of Solace’ Cokes, they seem to get it right every time.

Their latest project? Diet Coke has teamed up with cosmetic brand Benefit and released a collection of three uber cool ‘Get Glam’ cans in the UK. Each can is inspired by the brand’s three top lip products- Benetint (red rose-tinted lip stain), Posietint (poppy pink lip stain) and Cha Cha tint (mango lip stain). The beautifully designed cans feature a stylish black and white design with a pop of colour in a perfectly shaped pout. As if the can alone wasn’t good enough, there’s a £5 voucher to be redeemed at Benefit’s online store for every can purchased!

The cans are expected to be on sale until March, but unfortunately they’re sold exclusively in the UK and won’t be making it to our shores.

Want to check out the lips stains that inspired these designs? Benefit is sold exclusively at selected Woolworths stores throughout South Africa.
